Only after the reforms of Peter I the look of Russian clothing changed. Especially people cherished hats, that didn’t wear out much in everyday life, but in terms of status were more than important. The clothes were very expensive and were handed down from generation to generation. Headwear barely changed over many centuries. Later a division into hats for the rich and the poor took place. Initially, Russian fur hats were the same for rich and poor and only differed in the quality of the material and the value of the fur.
